Orthopedic Profile: Timothy Miller, MD
Dr. Timothy Miller is an orthopedic doctor at KSF Orthopaedic Center in Houston, TX, specializing in treating lower leg injuries and conditions. Originally from California, he graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a biochemistry degree. He followed that by earning a medical degree at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine before completing his Orthopedic Surgical Residency training with the Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina. To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Miller completed a fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. During his time there, he served on the staff as an assistant in orthopedic surgery. While at Massachusetts General Hospital, he also worked and trained with the team physicians for the New England Patriots (NFL), Boston Red Sox (MLB), Boston Bruins (NHL), and New England Revolution (MLS).
Foot Treatment and Patient Care Philosophy
In addition to treating a wide range of general orthopedic problems, Dr. Miller specializes in treating the lower extremity’s orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, bunions, ankle instability, flatfoot reconstruction, and other deformities. He also treats cartilage, ligament, and tendon injuries as well as Achilles tendon ruptures. To address the vast array of conditions, he provides minimally invasive treatments such as arthroscopy and more traditional approaches.
“I feel that the foot and ankle are underserved in the field of orthopedics and look forward to using the latest and most up to date training and equipment to help my patients return to a full and active lifestyle,” Dr. Miller said. “I firmly believe that educating patients and providing non-operative treatment can help relieve many issues. Surgery can be recommended, if necessary, once we have exhausted all other non-surgical options.”
Dr. Miller is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopedic Association, and Harris County Medical Society. He was also published in Texas Rising Stars each year from 2016 to 2018.

PROstep ™ Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) is a less invasive solution for Hallux Valgus- commonly known as bunions- that can get patients back on their feet faster, with less pain, and less scarring. Dr. Miller is pleased to offer this new procedure as an option for his patients. Bunions are a progressive condition, so it often takes time for patients to recognize their symptoms and seek medical attention. As the deformity gradually increases, so do pain and difficulties in walking or even wearing shoes. PROstep™ is a less invasive alternative that allows the surgeon to realign the big toe joint. This technique results in less pain and earlier return to function compared to open procedures.
Cartiva® Synthetic Cartilage Implant (SCI) improves mobility by reducing pain and preserving the motion of your big toe. Big toe arthritis affects 1 in 40 people over the age of 50. Patients suffering from big toe arthritis often experience tenderness, achiness, and pain which over time can develop into joint stiffness that makes even walking painful. Now Dr. Miller can offer his patients the Cartiva ® SCI as a solution for big toe arthritis that reduces pain and preserves the movement of your toe joint so you can maintain an active lifestyle.
moveWRIGHT™ Total Ankle Replacement. Patients suffering from painful end-stage ankle arthritis often cite lost mobility as a symptom that negatively impacts their daily life. Now Dr. Miller offers his patients moveWRIGHT™ Total Ankle Replacement, a procedure that has been designed to relieve arthritic pain and restores movement to the damaged ankle joint.
Ankle arthritis can often be traced back to a traumatic injury, and occurs when the protective cartilage between the bones gradually wears down. This bone-on-bone contact can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and reduce ankle mobility over time. MoveWRIGHT ™ replaces the damaged cartilage with a customized implant that bends and flexes to mimic the natural movement of a healthy ankle, allowing patients to get back to living an active lifestyle.
