Arthroscopic Biceps Tenodesis Incorporated Into Rotator Cuff Repair Using Suture Anchors
George MS. “Arthroscopic Biceps Tenodesis Incorporated Into Rotator Cuff Repair Using Suture Anchors”. Orthopedics 2008 June;31:552-55
Disorders of the long head of the biceps tendon are commonly associated with rotator cuff tears. Biceps tendon subluxation, tendonopathy, and partial thickness tearing can be treated with biceps tenotomy or tenodesis.Biceps tenodesis avoids the deformity associated with biceps tenotomy but may be technically difficult. Multiple surgical approaches for biceps tenodesis have been described, including arthroscopic suture anchor tenodesis, open or arthroscopic interference screw techniques, and keyhole tenodesis.
