Shelley Peterson was born in San Diego, California but spent her entire childhood in Plano, TX. She grew up playing sports, especially competitive soccer, which introduced her at an early age to the kinds of injuries that Orthopaedic surgeons treat.
After having two knee surgeries before she was 18 years old, she became interested in becoming a Physician Assistant. Her interest developed from the positive experiences she had with her Orthopaedic surgeon's PA, whom she saw for the majority of her post-operative care.
Shelley graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. She then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX where she earned her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies degree in the summer of 2004.
Shelley Peterson is board certified and licensed in the state of Texas. She joined the staff at KSF Orthopaedics in the fall of 2004. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery. In her spare time she enjoys, music, running, and playing soccer.
