Dr. John Hume specializes in inteventional pain management, neck and back pain, as well as general musculoskeletal disorders.

Dr. Hume graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana and earned his Doctorate degree at Howard University College of Medicine. He trained in general surgery at The Washington Hospital Center and The Brooklyn Hospital Center before completing his Pain Management and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at Spine Technology and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne, IN.T

Dr. Hume believes in a comprehensive approach that involves identifying the cause of pain and correcting the dysfunctions that contribute to pain with the goal of improving quality of life. This entails trials of physical therapy and modalities, diagnostic imaging, invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, but most importantly, lifestyle modification. Though he is trained in procedures he is a firm believer in the bodies potential to heal and/or adapt and will take the least invasive approach possible until there is no other option.

Dr Hume is a member of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society.

Dr Hume is married, has two children, and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
