George MS, Jorgensen JR. “Method of Subcoracoid Graft Passage in Acromioclavicular Joint Reconstruction”, Orthopedics, 2010; 33(11):812

Surgical reconstruction is recommended for type IV and V injuries and symptomatic type III injuries that fail nonoperative treatment. Many surgical techniques have been developed, including primary ligament repair, modified Weaver-Dunn reconstruction, and free soft tissue transfer passed either through or around the coracoid process.
