Functional Capacity Evaluations and Work Conditioning
KSF Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Center in North Houston is currently offering the new services of Work Conditioning and Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s). The staff has a combined ten years of experience with work conditioning, FCE’s, and impairment ratings. Eligible clients would be persons who have sustained a work-related injury and aim to someday return to their previous job or another vocation.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE’s)
The FCE is currently the best tool available to help the physician determine a person’s ability to perform work-related tasks and physical activities of daily living. This test will provide objective data addressing lifting, job simulated tasks, hand dexterity, cardiovascular performance, work postures and movements, and effort validity. The FCE results can help establish both physical demand levels, work tolerance, and work readiness.
Depending on the FCE results, work conditioning may be indicated to increase the client’s physical abilities. Work Conditioning is a highly structured, individualized, goal-oriented program designed to maximize the individual’s ability to return to work. This program allows an individual to ease back into work without the uncertainty of failure and re-injury.
KSF Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Center is interested in providing the highest quality of healthcare service. Work Conditioning hours will be Monday – Friday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The clients will be expected to attend 4 to 8 hours per day depending on their needs, five days a week, for 4-6 weeks. For additional information or referrals, please call the phone number below.
