Before you get here:

OR RoomAfter your doctor has scheduled a time and date for your procedure, a member of our staff will contact you. During this pre-admission interview, you will be given a list of instructions to follow to ensure a safe procedure and recovery. You will also need to answer questions regarding your medical history. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about your surgery. It is our goal to make your surgical experience as pleasant as possible.

You are, of course, welcome to visit the facility in advance of your surgery KSF Orthopaedic Surgery Center has the most up-to-date equipment and has been designed especially to care for the surgical patient. This enables you to receive the maximum levels of care and service from the moment you walk into the center’s admitting room until the time you leave for home following surgery.

When you arrive:

  • Please follow all instructions given.
  • On the day of your surgery, please arrive one hour prior to your scheduled surgery time.
  • Upon arrival, please sign in. One of our staff will accompany you to the pre-op area.
  • Wear casual, comfortable clothing.
  • Leave all jewelry, body piercings and valuables at home.
  • Do not wear nail polish or makeup.
  • Do not come alone. You will need a friend or family member to drive you home after your surgery.
  • Because it is normal to feel dizzy and a little sleepy after surgery, do not drive, sign important papers or make any significant decisions for 24 hours following your procedure.

What we need from you:

Doctor, nurse and patient pictureIt is our goal to be sure that your time with us will be comfortable and worry free, and that you will be treated with dignity and respect. This includes assisting you with financial arrangements for your procedure. We are constantly working to streamline our operations to keep our costs low without sacrificing the quality of care you receive. For your convenience, we gladly accept all major credit cards. Prior to your surgery, we will speak with your insurance carrier regarding your coverage and inform you of your financial responsibility. If you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage, please don’t hesitate to call our Business Office.

The anesthesiology staff of Red Oak Anesthesia are specifically trained to provide safe general anesthesia as well as a variety of “blocks” for those patients who do not want a general anesthesia. These “blocks” can be performed with long acting medications which give the patients a significant amount of pain relief in the hours following the procedure.
